Lets get organizing you guys!
Clothes are the most vital things any could need but having an arranged closet is quite a fix. I am going to discuss with you guys how I arrange my closet.
Ways I organize my closet
1. Color coding.
When packing shirts, jackets or blouses; I usually hang them in the closest from the brightest color-being white to the darkest color-black. This makes it super easy to distinguish which color arrangement I can make into an outfit, that I feel like wearing on a particular day.
Shirts that are sleeveless go first, which are then followed by short sleeved shirts and blouses; and long sleeve shirts, all the way to my jackets.
2. Material Coding
This goes hand in hand with color coding clothes. For instance, when a particular clothing set has a particular material that is delicate, I usually put in either the mid section to hang in my closet or most of the time at the beginning of the rack. Then my thickest material clothing like my jackets, sweaters and pullovers are usually at the back of my closet.
3. Arranging clothes according to the season.
Whenever a new season comes around I always move my clothes that aren’t for a particular season in the back space of my shelf closet. I pack such as moving my already folded big warm sweaters and long sleeve tops I normally wear in winter to the back of the shelf space so I don’t have to clutter the clothing that is for the summer season I am going to wear. Besides no one wants to be stressed out with the need to refold and clothes for a current season again.
It can be a bit of a hassle when you think about arranging your clothes according to the seasons that are currently happening but it definitely saves the time for searching.
4. Dividing shelf space.
Calculating the right amount of space I need to divide my closet space into, really saved me time. I divided it up into 6 spaces for my belongings:
I have three shelves that are divided up for my clothes to be folded on- Sweaters and tops, sweatpants, jeans, leggings and shorts and my pyjamas.
One shelf is for my books and my photography kit to stay on.
Two drawers- one for my makeup and hair stuff and one for my undergarments and socks.
Then my closet space for my shoes and my shirts, blouses, dresses and jackets.
5. Flow of the clothes you wear.
Let’s face it- we always have that favorite jean, top, jacket or shoes we always like to wear for particular settings that always slays but sometimes we never seem to have them ready on hand when we want to wear them right?
Well to handle that, I always pack my shoes in a range from my flats, pumps, chuck Taylors, roshes, sneakers, boots and heels within my closet. This technique has made it really easy for me to get my shoes quickly and pack them without any hassle at all.
These are basically all the things I do to keep my closet tidy and all. If there is anything I left out feel free to share your tips too within the comments and discuss it.
