Dance is one of the most creative forms of expression.
Sometimes we get discouraged to follow something through because we are scared and are unsure on where to start. This post will focus on giving some tips to follow through on becoming a dancer.
Research

Before we normally start something we have to read up and gather information on what dance is.
This can be done through many forms:
- Books such pdf files, ebooks, dance catalogues etc.
- Online Videos tutorials of dance styles, dance history etc.
- Websites, blogs and organizations that are centered around dance.
Researching will assist you in understanding the history of dance, the different styles and what to expect.
Get into a routine

Once you’re confident you want take up dance, you have to focus on a routine.
A routine would be more focused on mainting your fitness and flexibility. Routines are important for dancers as they use their bodies to do a variation of dance styles.
If you’re unsure of how to get into a routine research on youtube the different exercise routines, yoga stretches or warm ups that can be done to prepare for dance.
Do not rush into doing complex routines, start from beginner routines in yoga and physical fitness. Proceed to gradually work your way up from spending 25 minutes to 45 minutes doing a warm up or yoga.
Practice, Practice, Practice

Practice is the best form of getting better. You can have a passion but you have to be willing to push yourself to be better.
If you can’t attend a dance class you want to go to watch Youtube choreography videos to learn. It will help you with getting more precise and learning how to dance a particular way to a specific dance style i.e. hip hop, comtemporary etc.
If you know someone who can dance ask them to teach you the basics of dance. It would be a starting point as learning a simple routine can push you to learn and build your confidence up. Take private dance classes to work on what you want to improve.

You should not be discouraged from learning to dance. Take your time and gradually work through it either in the comfort of your home or by attending dance classes.
